For practitioners
The Approved Facilitator programme
For counsellors, therapists, coaches, facilitators and carers who see clients, and who want to bring the Atlas, the Thread and the Witness into their own practice.
Your client does the Atlas on their own, in a single sitting, and comes away with a written Record of the pattern running their life, drawn from their own words. What happens after that is between the two of you. The Thread and the Witness can follow when you and your client agree they fit, alongside the work you already do together.
Clients own what they write. They decide what to share with you, and every decision about the work stays with you. The tools are for reflection and pattern work. They are not therapy, and the AI never makes a decision about your client.

Who it is for
Counsellors, therapists, coaches, group and men's-work facilitators, pastoral and spiritual carers: anyone who sits with clients and takes responsibility for that work. You keep your own true professional title. The programme adds one more, Approved Facilitator, and it says exactly what it means: you have walked the work yourself and been assessed on how you bring it to others.
The programme is led by Michael Lauria (The Architect), a qualified therapist, author and philosophical mythologist, and built from twenty years in the chair and thirty-three books.
Before you apply
You complete the Atlas and the Thread yourself first. Nobody facilitates a passage they have not walked.
- The Atlas is free and takes about forty-five minutes, in one sitting.
- The Thread is five sessions of about thirty minutes, one a day.
You can apply now and finish either one afterwards. Your application is kept.
What certification involves
Six short online modules, taken at your own pace.
The method
Pattern, thread and integration. How the Atlas reads from evidence, and why the work is built to end.
Reading a Record
Separating what the client said from what the Record draws from it, so you know which is which before you sit down with them.
The Seals and scope
The standard every output is held to. Naming a pattern, never diagnosing one, and what the AI may and may not do inside a practice.
Crisis routing
When to stop, how to refer, and why the tools are never used with someone in crisis.
Consent
What a client chooses to share, what stays theirs, and what you do when they change their mind.
Working alongside the Thread and the Witness
When the Thread fits a client and when it doesn't, and how the Witness can hold the work between your sessions.
Then an assessment: three case readings, a short recorded mock session, and the scope and crisis tests. For the founding group, Michael reviews every assessment personally. Status is renewed each year with six hours of learning and one reviewed case.
What it costs
$900 once for a founding place. It covers the six modules and the assessment.
After certification, a practice seat is $49 a month:
- unlimited client invitations
- your client list
- one Thread place a month for a client
- a reduced Witness rate for your clients
The Atlas stays free to everyone, your clients included.
How it works with a client
- You send your client an invitation. They create their own account.
- They do the Atlas alone, in one sitting, the way anyone does.
- You see that they have started and finished. Their Record comes to you only if they choose to share it, and they can withdraw it.
- You meet, and you decide together what comes next. The Thread and the Witness are there when they fit.
The standard
Every facilitator signs the Approved Facilitator Agreement. It sets out the scope of the work, client consent, crisis and safety, fees, and how the title may be used. Read it before you apply.
